will wispr flow defeat the mechanical keyboard? (no)
networking tips, remote jobs, and answer the call for a developer evangelist 😇
Good morning, sweet babies.
Today’s newsletter is full of tiny, juicy nuggets: a junior-level engineering job, a smattering of REMOTE jobs, and a call for a developer evangelist.
Company spotlight: Wispr Flow
As someone who is prone to developing a wicked case of carpal tunnel syndrome, I am more than ready for Wispr Flow, whose mission is to make the best, most effortless speech-to-text app around. This isn’t mere dictation, Wispr Flow is meant to make working as easy as talking. It’s there to catch your mistakes and stop you from sounding so rambly.
The list of use cases is oh-so long. Think email writing and project management, yes, but also *~*~CoDinG~*~* (lol we all know engineers are not ditching their mechanical clackers for this but we can all dream!)
Wispr Flow announced its $30 million series A in June and boasts a list of users that includes NVIDIA, Meta, Substack, Amazon, and Perplexity.
They’ve got a lot of open jobs right now, including a developer evangelist (🙏 amen) and a VP of engineering.
In their words:

Piping Hot Networking Tip
I love this hack from my esteemed colleague Macy Mills. Make a QR code that links to your LinkedIn profile (or Github or portfolio) and set it as your phone background. That way you can quickly direct new connections to your work.
